In the quietness
I feel it all bubble up
Rising to the surface
With unstoppable
Relentless
Force

I no longer try
To choke it down
Push it away
Cover it up
I don’t need to
Be strong
Anymore

I allow for it
To run it’s course
Taking over
My emotions
My thoughts
My breath
Fully

When I
Surrender
It lifts
My heart calms
My throat loosens
My breathing steadies
I am empty

Then I experience
The gratitude
For being able to

That I can feel
